Still ill, and have had numerous nights of terrible sleep now. But the good news is we’re off to Nottingham today to trade at a spooky market!
I’ve chosen some heavy eyeliner and eyeshadow in the colours of weariness and bruises so that hopefully it distracts from the dark circles, or at least looks like a deliberate aesthetic choice and not pure exhaustion.
Woken up by the cat for his breakfast, but I’m about to go back to sleep. Trying to decide whether to head to the beach or enjoy the garden today. I think it’s going to be another hot one.
My attempts at domestic service yesterday were only partly successful, so I still have the upstairs and stairs to hoover, and I need to get the car washed and cleaned up, so I’ll aim for that. What’s probably going to happen is that I’ll sit down and carry on replaying Lego City: Undercover
Yep I’m here in Sussex until tomorrow and we’ve pretty much done everything so were mostly just relaxing
We’re off on our hols on Tuesday (Norfolk) so there’s a lot of tidying, cleaning and sorting to do. It’s the lead up to school when we come back so it’d be nice not to have to return to a shithole.
We’re halfway through lifting 40sqm of giant concrete patio slabs, and my body spent the night screaming at me
I thought we were doing well but realised we’ve got loads more prep before laying the turf, but I refuse to concede defeat and ‘bung some fake grass on it’ as my boy suggested
Spent most of yesterday outside, walked for miles and had mostly pizza and ice cream to eat. So I suppose it’s only right we stay in and be lazy, with a tiiiiiiny amount of cleaning so we can maintain that “adult” label.
I may even attempt the dream. Clean bedsheets, clean body, freshly shaven legs. Iykyk.

Imagine my surprise when yet again, I’ve woken up still in my hospital bed
Back from holiday yesterday, husband went to hospital last night with a suspected heart attack (it wasn’t thank god, no idea what it was though) so today it’s food shopping and chilling the fuck out. I’ve ordered a Starbucks this morning because we’ve fuck all in the house, and toddler is blessing me with a long lie in after waking up at 5am every day on holiday
I decided to be productive and clean the cats paw prints of the wall under my window first thing. The magic sponge I lightly used has decided my grey walls needed to be blue again. I’ve got reside from wall stickers I need to remove too, dreading to know how that’ll go.
🇬🇧 in 🇰🇪. For the second Sunday running no power. Last week it went off circa 9am, came back on circa 7pm. Today it went off at 08.30, I don’t have high hopes for it coming back on until this evening. Better prepared this time, everything is charged, but it does mean some of my cooking plans will be derailed, which for means I won’t do it this week (that’s just the way my brain works, routine!). Bit of a pain but I try not to get wound up about it.
Today just happens to be one of those rare occasions when my son is able to visit and our football teams are playing each other. So it’s off to the pub later to watch the match. It’s been years since we last did this. I can’t wait.
Got up at 5.30- exercised (whilst watching alien earth)-breakfast-bath and read some of my book
Now my daughter is up so it’s get her sorted for hopefully a few hours on the beach
At some point I have to batch cook my lunches for the next few weeks
All while keeping my pregnant wife calm (stroppy toddlers and a pregnant woman don’t always go smoothly)
A morning of reading my book in the garden, then headed to my parents’ for lunch. Then seeing friends this evening for a D&D themed quiz (the two parties facing off against one another!)
Tip for anyone picking blackberries:
Look at the base (bit connected to the stork). If it’s clean, then it’s good and fresh. If it’s stained, then it’s likely been breached by an insect.
Going to cinema to see weapons. I now have a full week off work from today. So can’t wait to have lie in and go for some nice walks and just chill at home in peace.
Got woken up by a mix of ravens and parakeets having a shouting match outside, so made myself a brew, started boiling a large pot of water to go into the now empty keg to be cooled and carbonated later on* and am planning another rotisserie chicken.
Watching the bee-friendly balcony setup yesterday, I saw common carder bees, red-tailed, buff-tailed and white-tailed bumblebees, as well as several honey bees, a few cabbage whites and red admiral butterflies. It is very calming and relaxing. Carder bees climbing inside the snapdragons leaving their little bee butts hanging out is adorable.
^(*having a beer tap on the kitchen counter that dispenses fizzy water is awesome and a lot cheaper than one of those all in one taps that do the same thing.)
Got my boyfriends family coming over to see the new house, then we’re all gonna pop down to the beach for a stroll and a paddle. Should be a sweet day.
Not lazy for meeee, I have work alas. Only in 9-5 tho so at least I will get the evening.cant decide if I want to go to the gym after work
Plans are to finish packing for moving hoose next week!
That and moaning to anyone that will listen about the rash that has developed on my arm this weekend – Don’t do eczema, kids!
I’ve got my routine eye test this morning then a DND sesh this afternoon
I’m finally getting my shoulder scan at hospital! Is it a torn rotator cuff? All will be revealed, woohoo. Bit weird that it’s a 4pm Sunday appointment but I’ll take it.
We just got back from holiday last night, we’ve mostly unpacked, but I’d love nothing more than to just spend the day with my 3D printer and be left alone. Instead we have family coming over which means cleaning the house (despite not being home for the previous week)
Also, I need to wash and hoover my car because it’s covered in sand.
Think it would be acceptable to wash it while we have family over? They could help and it would be done quicker
Laundry then off to the cinema tomorrow watch the new Naked Gun film.
Ploughman’s Chutney (courgette, leek and celery) and plum ketchup being made today. Slowly ploughing through The Iliad with a bit of Disney’s Hercules to keep me interested…😃
2 kids birthday parties. One is at an Aqua splash and the weather is glorious so I’m excited for that.
The other the kids Mum is Mexican and puts on a cracking spread, so I’m also excited for that.
Then a Sunday Roast at Granny’s House, which needs no explanation.
Happy Sunday folks, cracking weather out there today again.
I’m off for a run in a bit, then back for some breakfast. I’ll knock up a smoothie for myself and whatever my mum fancies.
It’s her birthday, and she’s not big on surprises, so I’ll just let her decide what she wants to do and eat. Nice and simple.
Rest of the day I’ll be taking it easy. Bit of football (United vs Arsenal), catch up on Alien: Earth, and maybe squeeze in some gaming if I can.
Cleaning and tidying.
We came back from a camping trip in the middle of the week and we still have some things to put away so the house is a bit of a bomb site.
Will try and straighten up the living room and the kitchen today at the very least. I want to list some things on eBay to clear some more space and make some funds to help get my car fixed later this year.
I’ve been doing a bit of arts and crafts in the middle of all this so I want to wrap up a few things including fixing a couple of things that just need a bit of super glue or the hot glue gun which I’ll do at the end when I have space to use the table.
