This is the one chance we have to stand united against Putin! This is not a war of the Russians or the Ukrainians. THIS IS HIS OWN AGENDA! His opinion has ALWAYS gone up with wars; he was starting to lose public opinion so he starts a full war with a military that otherwise has no better use.

He is destroying life of Russians and Ukrainians, destroying decades of values and international pacts and sowing the seeds for corruption for decades to come!

I’m not saying that any other country is holy, but ffs he is mass mudering and completely losing it.

We need to bring this to a stop swiftly! His support will fail if this is taken from him. It can be revoked and be given back to Russia afterwards. This is not the end for cyprus.

If we wait now, a classic imperialist play will be allowed to take place. Ukraine will be a puppet state, Russia will gain authoritarian alies. And the world will be a whole different place for many, many generations.

Excuse the vent, but this issue is massive! I have been lucky enough to be born in peace. I saw the shortcommings of democratic governments for sure. But in a couple of decades of peace we went from fireplaces to floor heaters, abundance of food, technological advancements. Growth has never been so great at moments of collaboration. This will all stop. The WHOLE international community, law and order, and human rights will collapse.

There are bigger eyes preying on what our resolve and reply is.

Times will be tough short term, if we sanction with swift, but long term they will be fine! The opposite if we don’t.

I saw a few posts and I see people are with Ukraine, PLEASE show your support, GET THIS MESSAGE THROUGH TO YOUR GOVERNMENT.

    The Cypriot minister of the economy said last night that CY is not against the ban… even Donald Tusk never mentioned CY.. news travels slow because many people are quick to comment… it’s even possible that this was just fake news because such a scenario would be most believable due to CY’s interests…

    For instance , people are now saying that Biden is also against the ban and that there is no need for permission from EU as Trump had done it to Iran when he wanted to… NEVER be too hasty to judge especially in this age of fake news. Cyprus is just an easy scapegoat for most of the superpowers… I don’t know who is saying the whole truth but to be honest they could have also considered banning oil & gas if they were truly serious!!!

  6. Italians blocked sanctions for Luxury Goods. Bunch of other countries blocked the more severe Gas sanctions too fearing further inflation spiral and reprisals from their voter base.

    Everyone is looking out for themselves, I don’t think for a second that if this were happening to Cyprus (again) it would be any different. Sad state of affairs, but that’s the European Union setup where each country looks first after its interests and then the union and it’s being used as intended.
