Greece must produce natural gas, not rush to renewables

The rush to renewable energy sources creates more problems than it solves, says Costis Stambolis, president of the Institute of Energy for Southeast Europe, in a new book, “Greece in the New Energy Era.”

Dependency on fossil fuels globally has only dropped 5% and a more balanced mix of sources is needed – notably, for Greece, natural gas from domestic sources, he says. Green energy will come eventually, he says.
