Finland’s Lauri Markkanen looks ready for EuroBasket 2025.
The Utah Jazz forward put on another dominant display in a 97–88 road win against Poland, posting 24 points and 12 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action.
Markkanen has been nothing short of sensational this summer. He previously exploded for 48 points in a blowout victory over Belgium, and after three preparation games is averaging 40.3 points and 8.3 rebounds while shooting 53.8% from three (14/26) and 68.6% from the field overall (35/51).
Alongside Markkanen’s brilliance, Olivier Nkamhoua chipped in 12 points with five boards and four assists, Sasu Salin added 11 points and four assists, while Mikael Jantunen contributed 10 points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor.
For Poland, Aleksander Balcerowski led the way with 17 points and four rebounds. Veteran Mateusz Ponitka added 12 points, five rebounds and five assists, Dominik Olejniczak had 11 points and six boards, while Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (11 pts) and Andrzej Pluta (10 pts, six ast) also scored in double figures.
Finland continues to establish itself as one of the most intriguing teams heading into EuroBasket 2025, with Markkanen proving nearly impossible to stop.
