Shtate of that hi
We’re fat bastards who do not give one shite about our country
How is that appealing? Can’t even enjoy the beach!
Get yer fuckin cars off the beach
Yeah lets lye around on a sandy car park :/
This is the most blatant example of “I’m more important than you” that I’ve seen in quite some time.
Get the cars off the fucking beach

Of all the laws we currently adhere to, how about adding not parking on a fucking beach to the list. I imagine the Open a few weeks ago might have been comparable
I grew up there and absolutely loved it, never thought twice about parking on the beach and setting up behind the car, took my wife in adulthood and she couldn’t believe it….the thing that boggled her mind most however was that everyone sets up their windbreaker behind the car…and sits where they can’t even have a nice view and just looks at the exhaust pipe, it is odd when you think about it
I will also say there is non existent parking round there so it’s a dammed if you do dammed if you don’t scenario
I remember port beach in Co Louth was the same until they banned cars on the beach after a young fella was killed by a car. Now it’s a beautiful beach
We always find a way to ruin beautiful things in this country, I even feel sorry for any of the wee Weever fish buggers that turn up there.
Portstewart Strand beach is a National Trust Property and you are charged to drive your car on there unless you a member of the National Trust. Anyone who has younger kids will know that paying is actually worth it as a car can act as a fridge, a shelter, a changing room and all your belongings/toys within your car on the beach. Walking on is free so no issue there. It’s also not as bad as it looks in that picture once you are parked up. That beach stretches a long way and our biggest issue was kids going into splash about and then losing track of where we were camped.
Giving the tendency of Reddit I expect all of the downvotes, but are we that lazy here that you can’t walk a few minutes to the beach?
Would make the day so much more enjoyable than sitting beside a bunch of cars & actually having some space?
Could have gone to Donegal man
Would rather go to Downhill or Castlerock. Usually much quieter.
Ever see those beach cleaning videos where they shift the sand? I dread to think what you’d find under the strand.
I live in portstewart but if im going to the beach I will head to portrush solely for the fact you cant park on it! It’s a fucking nightmare with kids
How is that enjoyable for anyone?
Waterfoot beach was completely packed on the 12th too.
That’s an ugly as fuck picture. All those vehicles where people should be lying sunbathing, building sandcastles etc
Recovery driver’s wet dream 😂😂
Narin beach / Portnoo today in Donegal. Just for comparison.

Probably better Guinness too!
Way to ruin a lovely beach. Exhaust emissions, noise pollution and obstructed views of the ocean.
My idea of fresh Hell
Jesus. No one actually enjoying the beach. Just a car park.
We need better transport in NI to stop this car centric mindset!
I mean, I get the rationale for allowing parking on the beach – there’s nowhere else to park. Having 2 small kids, I even get the appeal. But this is utterly ridiculous. The national trust should have much tighter rules. Like, why not set up a normal density carpark and ask people to walk up the strand a bit to pitch up for the day? That being said, if I’d rocked up there and my 2 kids had been balling, I’d have joined the mess. So I’d be a hypocrite to blame the punters. But seeing that, I’ll probably just avoid it on sunny days now or be honest.
Cars should not be allowed on that beach. A great day ruining the beauty of the place!!!!

Why would anyone want to go to that? Car oil and fumes all over the beach and water. Not to forget the countless bottles, tins and bbqs left behind too. I was at Portsalon in Donegal and the beach was the cleanest I’ve ever been on. No rubbish, no cars just family enjoying clean sand and beautiful water while protecting the flora and fauna.
What the fuck with all the cars. That’s madness.
