> “‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood‘ is my favorite, ‘Inglorious Bastards‘ is my best,” Tarantino said. “But I think ‘Kill Bill‘ is the ultimate Quentin movie, like nobody else could’ve made it. Every aspect about it is so particularly ripped, like with tentacles and bloody tissue, from my imagination and my id and my loves and my passion and my obsession. So I think ‘Kill Bill’ is the movie I was born to make, I think ‘Inglorious Bastards’ is my masterpiece, but ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is my favorite.”
Every scene in “Kill Bill” (Parts 1 and 2) is perfectly written, acted, lit, filmed, directed and edited. Imho, it’s a flawless piece of celluloid art.
Surprised his favorite movie to make wasn’t From Dusk Til Dawn, cause of that scene. You know that scene.
Wow. For me, it’s Pulp fiction then Reservoir Dogs…1 and 2
My favorite is Hollywood personally. I think all of his ‘stuff’ is in one place and put together well, there. Which, given that it’s his latest, isn’t too surprising.
I think nostalgia drives a lot with movie lovers and that’s fine, but he’s just clearly (to me) at his most mature / in the best command of his directorial powers overall, with Hollywood.
The first half-hour of Bastards is as close to cinematic perfection as a movie gets
“AU REVOIR SHOSHANNA!” still gives me chill. The rest of the movie is also brilliant, obviously
Pulp Fiction is his masterpiece.
Jackie Brown is the movie he was born to direct.
His best movie is EASILY Pulp Fiction. Nothing else is even close.
People can say what they want about him, but Tarantino is a living legend. All of his movies are not only incredible well written, acted, and filmed- but they’re all so much fucking fun.
I also love just listening to the dude break down movies and passionately talking about them.
This is Jackie Brown erasure.
But Pulp Fiction is his best, hands down.
>Quentin Tarantino Says ‘Inglorious Bastards’ Is ‘My Masterpiece’,
They literally spelled both words of the movies title wrong.
It’s Inglourious Basterds.
Edit: the article has now corrected their errors, leaving only this posts title as evidence.
Hateful Eight should be up there
I love all his movies, but I would say Jackie Brown is THE masterpiece in his filmography even if it wasn’t the biggest hit.
Reservoir Dogs: *am I joke to you?*
Imagine speaking so confidently about your own body of work and also being 100% accurate. Tarantino is the best kind of madman, a creative one.
Django is the best imo. Hateful 8 is severely underrated too
I think pulp fiction was his best personally
Honestly fair. I think Once Upon A Time might be my favorite too.
It makes sense that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is his favourite, it’s pure Tarentino without gimmicks, and his love for film shines through it.
You can just tell he loved making Once upon a Time
Pulp Fiction was by far his best work, and he knows that.
I feel like Pulp Fiction deserves to take one of either masterpiece or movie he was born to make
Even though it’s hard because he’s not wrong at first look at it I felt “sounds about right” but it’s impossible to tell the story of Tarantino without Pulp Fiction
I love the ending to Inglorious Basterds. The way you know Tarantino is saying that, not Aldo or Brad Pitt 🔥
So what does he think of reservoir dog’s pulp and hateful eight and django?
I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and then immediately restarted it forcing my wife to watch it with me. 10/10
I outgrew the over the top violence in all his films. That’s why Jackie brown is his best work
