‘An alliance with the United States poses a huge threat to Poland because it creates a false sense of security.’

  1. No kurwa mam nadzieje ze nawrociki nie sprzeda polske na skurwensyna putina przez agenta trumpelka.

  2. what sense of security? if anything, this proves we cannot depend on the US

  3. A small paranoid part of my brain, the one that is also a history nerd, keeps saying to me, “This is happening again, boys, the West is betraying us again!”

  4. Posts like these make me role my eyes. I am not a fan of the administration just like a lot of yall on Reddit are but if you seriously think you “cannot depend on the US” I can say as someone working for the US in the EUCOM AOR. We are going above and beyond supporting both NATO and others against the Russians. Obviously yall don’t see it because this shit happens behind closed doors and Reddit leans to “murica bad” if we are so unreliable then tell PiS to close down all of the USAG’s all throughout Poland

edit: only on Reddit will I get downvoted because I go against the narrative. Downvoting me changes nothing that IRL we are more reliable than any of these other countries. If we aren’t reliable, why have I myself had to fucking deploy to Poland to support yall

  5. Not having an alliance with the US would be vastly more dangerous…

  6. An alliance with the US is good, but we HAVE to understand and remember that their current govt does not see us (or the Central/Eastern Europe in general) as allies or even regional assets.

Then again, if they’re so buddy buddy with Putin, maybe close ties with them might not be so good.

  7. From what I have read from the 80% Poles over the past three years: “this is not our war.”
I know that there were a lot of ru Z ian bots among them… but still…

  8. It is supposed to be quote? It’s nonsensical without explanation.

  9. Alliance with the United States? I thought the orange Darth Vader & Co. have been rather clear that there would be no alliance because their value align much more with the orban and russkies crowd than with the West.

  10. Poland deserves everything it gets, if its dumb enough to leave it security in the hands of the fickle and self-interested “western partners” again.

  11. US soldiers on their knees for a ‘ruska szmata’…I’ve fucking seen it all!

  12. putin brought the strongest military in the world to their knees without a single bullet. a true genius of evil

  13. Do you think you can sit between Europe and Russia, incur ever-increasing debt, collect social security benefits, pretend to work, not invest in your own country, and expect the Americans or Europe to protect you? Sitting in such a spot, you’d have to be like Israel, Japan, or Finland. But you’re not. You’re just a buffer zone.

  14. Our leadership is treasonous and many other americans just don’t want to wake up to it. Many of us value our relationship with Poland and hope it continues to last and get better for a long time.

  15. Well… Our “greatest ally” is becoming increasingly unstable, unreliable and our interests are becoming ever more divergent.

Too bad that bombshell named “Europe” has a sticker reading “INERT” on it. I don’t know how much of it is ruZZian influence and how much is of our own inability to cooperate across the EU – in any case the outlook looks bleak.

  16. NATO should have accepted Russia when Putin himself came to them, but now the hysterical and ignorant eurocucks will paid for this from their wallet.

  17. Europe and Poland in particular need to prepare military and mentaly for the increasing possibility than the us will not come to aid in case of conflict. No need to burn bridges, but prepare for the worst scenario

  18. The difference here is that the EU has more than enough ability to sustain Ukraine’s financing for the war

  19. The Ronald Reagan conservatives are gone. The new conservative looks for a fascist strongman type of leadership. Putin and Trump both portray and exemplify the leadership style that these types seem to adore. Poland needs to develop and build its own defensive industry instead of just buying weapons from other countries.

  20. The agreements with the US have kept Poland safe so far…probably a new record of peacetime for Poland….but yes realistically..hopefully it’s been enough to allow Poland to get back on its feet, not intended to rely on sucking the US tit forever..

  21. Before ww2 Poland took the stance of forming alliances with distant powers (the UK and France) and hoped this would protect them from their neighbours. Poland had bad relations with almost all its neighbours for various different reasons (Germany, the USSR, Czecheslovakia).

Today PiS more than PO emphasizes the alliance with the USA. I don’t think the Americans will be willing to wage all out war for Poland. And more importantly I don’t think the Russians think the Americans are willing. But for Germany, Poland is much more important. I hope the lesson from ww2 is learnt and Poland will place more emphasis on maintaining great relations with it’s most powerful direct neighbours that can meaningfully intervene. Right now this means Germany. Until the current troubles with Russia have passed this will mean avoiding talking about antagonistic stuff like reparations and even loudly praising Germany when they do good things like lend patriot batteries. People underestimate how important cultural cohesion is – it’s hard to have another country send its sons to die for you if you attack them verbally for crimes committed by their grandparents. Guilt and even treaty obligations are not effective motivators when persuading a country to go to war for you.

I’ve always wondered if the emphasis on demanding reparations from Germany and not, for example, from Russia, was wise (I’m not German).

  22. At least Trump is trying to solve this diplomatically.
