We are set to be in Munich May 3-6, 2026 on the first leg of our trip but every hotel I am finding is 390-400 a night versus the normal $145-169. (See photo).
I know it’s Springfest but the other days of Springfest are normal. It also may be Auer Dult but again other days of the festival are normal.
What am I missing or other suggestions?

Feels very early to book? That might be part of the reason.

Might be due to the IFAT at the convention center which takes place from 4th to 7th.

Possibly due to large conventions like “BAU” or “ISPO”.
May has several public holidays and also a week or two of school holidays in Bavaria, so holiday season prices.
IFAT trade fair is in that week.
Hm maybe because of a potential bundesliga semi-final at the Allianz arena?

Are those the prices for hotels in the inner city? If so then you might wanna take a look at hotels on the outskirts of Munich, somewhere where the trains still reach. You’ll reach the inner city within half an hour and public transport like buses that can take you from your hotel to the train station is still pretty dense throughout the outskirts.
