I work in colorectal (bowel) cancer research. Micro plastics are the reason why by 2040 bowel cancer will be the most diagnosed cancer in the world and be the biggest killer of under 50’s.
It’s also something that is next to impossible to avoid. Unless you grow everything you eat yourself and wash natural fabric clothes in rain water you collected you cannot avoid microplastics.
‘Iced tea carried the smallest plastic particles on average (just 13 micrometers), while hot tea surprisingly contained the largest (averaging 51 micrometers)’
Are the smallest particles the worst?
JUST TELL ME WHO TO SUE ABOUT ALL THIS PLASTIC IN MA BALLS
Oh, whatever. That’s my reaction at this point. Micro plastics are everywhere; they’re not going away in my lifetime.
Unless you grow your own food with water from an untouched land, well, I reckon there’s microplastics in them at this point – I’ve stopped worrying about these TBH. A bit nihilistic but it is what it is.
Microplastics are stored in the balls
