A fare dodger was trying to get through the barriers but this guy was physically trying to block him at every attempt. Unfortunately the dodger did get through successfully when his female companion was trying to pull the security away from him. Other staff members were just telling him to let him go and don’t bother with it.

It’s just so heartwarming to actually see people actually try and uphold what’s morally right.

Afterwards, you can tell security was sick of it. He was exasperatingly telling someone or another staff member that this dodger does this everyday.

  1. Props to that guy, doing his best in a tough spot

  2. Worst ppl are the ones that yell at security / police for trying to enforce rules.

  3. Who would have thought ‘decriminalising through lack of response’ fare-dodging and shoplifting would result in a stratospheric surge in fare-dodging and shoplifting?

    No-one predicted that would happen.

  4. I saw someone do it in front of a BTP officer the other day. She was promptly booted out of the station. I wonder if she was that stoned she didn’t notice or really thought he wasn’t going to do anything.

  5. Was it the security guy who whipped out his handy roll of red tape and put it over the eyes of the two approaching dodgy ‘uns? Nice work, and quick thinking ! How do they do that whilst not moving from their position by the barriers? Is is AI?

  6. “Morally right”….it’s a dude jumping a train barrier..

I get it’s still wrong but it’s not even remotely that deep and definitely not worth the security guard getting hurt or worse over.

  7. I love TfL staff, 1000%. Great banter, no nonsense, solid.

  8. Exactly yesterday I was there waiting for someone. In 10 mins I saw 3 people pushing through the barriers and the security guard (not him) didn’t even bother with saying anything.

So why am I paying for public transport if there’s a huge amount of people who don’t??

  9. just another day in abbey wood 🤡

I see a police van outside the station almost weekly from my flat window

  10. It’s so brazen now. People tailgate me most days.

  11. Don’t take pics of people at work unless you’d like him to take a pic of you 👍

  12. Big sting-operation at Liverpool st today as I came home from Stansted. “plain clothes inspectors catching a few folks pushing/tailgating.

Glorious to see. The Jenrick Effect!

  13. This image is breaking my mind, does one of the people in the back not have any legs?

  14. Lotta respect for people in jobs like this that deal with a lot of crap and get very little thanks

  15. It might seem like the ‘Right’ thing to do, but it’s absolutely stupid to try and stop them if you are not police or security.

You are just putting yourself in danger so the multi billion £ company you work for gets another £3, who already account for an amount of fare dodgers. Not to mention you could also lose your job if you make 1 wrong move in an altercation.

  16. The real question is… Where is the lady on the rights body?

  17. London is such a weird conundrum. The govt doesn’t do anything to reduce inequality or improve education. The people just don’t do anything to stop criminal activity and those who do are chastised.

  18. I’m not British—but may I ask why a country that once controlled pretty much the whole world has been whittled down to this? Can’t even stop a fare dodger? Can only attempt to block? Really?

  19. Why even bother having security if they can’t or won’t do anything? May as well sack all of the rest of them and put the money into something of use, like one more of this guy.

  20. We generally need to give these guys tazers as a major deterrent

  21. I saw one succesfully stop a fare dodger at Vauxhall a couple of weeks ago. Good job that guy!
