As part of joint military exercises between Minsk and Moscow, the Russians have transferred echelons of equipment to Belarus.

This was announced during the telethon by the spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko.

According to him, intelligence units and the State Border Guard Service are currently monitoring the number of forces that the Russian Federation has deployed or plans to deploy to the Belarusian border. He added that threats to Ukraine depend on this, especially during the active phase of the exercises, which will take place in September.

Demchenko said that during the active phase, the Russians and Belarusians plan to bring in armored vehicles, but the number is expected to be small.

“The preparatory stage is now underway, and the first echelons have already arrived on the territory of Belarus. I would like to note that this is a small number of Russian assets and personnel that have been transferred to the territory of Belarus,” he assured.

It was previously reported that the first Russian troops are already in Belarus , they will take part in joint exercises, the active phase of which is scheduled for September.

By the way, Deputy State Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Defense Andis Dilans stated that up to 150,000 military personnel will participate in the Russian Zapad exercises, which will take place in Belarus in 2025 .
