Jak Czarnecki do Poznania po Szwedzkim zaborze w oficjalnej wersji.
Przyznam, że zwrotki “Niemiec, Moskal nie osiędzie” nie znałem 🙂
Sweden did some fucked up shit in Poland right?
PTSD. What can you do. Needed to vent.
Italy is mentioned in the chorus, so it’s most likely to be known.
The first verse mentions “the foe” and refers to the partitions of Poland, the perpetrators of which were Russia, Austria and Germany
France is indirectly mentioned in the second verse by referring to Napoleon Bonaparte (and being the only national anthem that mentions him in a positive context as the one who “showed the ways to victory”)
Sweden is directly mentioned in the third verse as the ones Czarniecki fought against in Poznań
At least be happy, that your anthem is full of national phrases and proud of polish nationality, people and country. I dont know why, but our country literally chose song of anthem started by first sentence: “Where is my home?”
Btw: little cultural joke: When czechia and slovakia Split in one, we exchenge the anthems. They will sing: “Where is my home” and we “It’s shining above the Tatra Mountains”
When all your friends get invited, but not you. Swiss moment.
Interestingly poland is mentioned in italian anthemn
“co nam obca przemoc wzięła” – “what the foreign power took” – Russia, Germany, Austria
“Dał nam przykład Bonaparte, jak zwyciężać mamy” – “Bonaparte gave us example of how to win” – France
“Jak Czarniecki do Poznania po szwedzkim zaborze” – “Just like Czarniecki (came back) to Poznań, after swedish partition (the deluge)” – Sweden
Btw swedish invasion was as destructive for the PLC as WW2 was for the 2nd Republic
Sorry. 😟🇸🇪
it is prolly worth mentioning that the og song was constantly expanded. lots of new verses were added or edited. at some point it was solidified into the current form.
where is Poland mentioned in the Russian national anthem?
I don’t think the Deluge was covered in school, if it was it was more like a footnote…
