In this thread: r/unitedkingdom users can’t read a headline, discover they’re perfect candidates for the Met.

The sheer number of people on this post who can’t be bothered to read the article or the t-shirt is staggering.
They could be perfect candidates for the Met.
Tony heart would be turning in his grave god bless his plasticine soul ❤️
‘How ridiculous is this?’. It’s more ridiculous that Palestine action has been labelled terrorism.

The reddit thumbnail made me think they’d arrested Bill Bailey.

I said this whole thing would turn the proscribed list into a joke, and I was right.
This entire affair has been such a ridiculous own-goal on the part of Labour.
Protesting the proscription is not the same as supporting the group. “I disagree completely but I will defend your right to say it”, or however it goes, is the sort of thing that comes to mind.
The proscription of Palestine Action was a massive overreach by the government and it’s frankly the most disingenuous bullshit I’ve seen from this govt so far. Protesting that shouldn’t get you arrested.
In the exact same bill, they didn’t even bother proscribing Combat 18 – an actual anti-Semitic, neo-Nazi organisation that is based in the UK and is responsible for actual murders.
Combat 18 also has links to ACTIVE proscribed terrorist groups in Northern Ireland such as the UDA and UVF!
Your average copper isn’t well trained enough to enforce this proscription without trampling on the rights of innocent people.
That’s why so many people are protesting the proscription specifically, because it also restricts in practice a great deal of speech which is legal.
I suspect a great many of the people willing to protest the proscription would disagree with Palestine Action if they met them, because PA *was* a hard line group which thought crime as a means of political protest was morally right. I don’t think that’s a common view, simply because our society would be much more chaotic if it were.
Met Police bans Morph, the word ‘morph’, pictures of Morph and the thumbs up as acts of terrorism, more news at 11..
This is a great move to show how ridiculous criminalising entire crowds is, and no doubt there’ll be 1000 of these T-shirts at the next PA protest.
The endgame of this is banning the letter ‘P’ in public, and surely the government will back down before it gets that dumb.
Yet the pigs let a nazi twat stand in front of them with a plackard that said “kill them all “ on it…. Which one out of those two do the public need protecting from ? ……..
Surely this is exactly what they guy wanted?
Sadly the intellectual capacity of our constabulary leaves a lot to be desired.
