The music ministry of the Filipino Dominicans won two awards in the inaugural edition of the Catholic Music Awards at Vatican City on Sunday, July 27.

OPMusik, run by the Dominican Communications Philippines, won Best Liturgical Song for performing “Lord, Here I Am,” composed by Fr. Giuseppe Pietro Arsciwals, O.P. and performed by the KoroDominiko choir.

They also won Best Parish Choir for their rendition of the “Dominican Blessing.”

OPMusik was nominated for Best Marian Song, for “Hail Mary,” composed by Irineo Hernandez III and performed by the Santo Domingo Male Chorale.

The male choir was also nominated for Best Parish Choir, with their performance of “Memorare.”

The awards rites were organized by the Ramón Pané Foundation and sponsored by the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See.

It was  conceptualized by Honduran Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga and launched during the World Youth Day 2024 festivities in Lisbon, Portugal.

The awards recognize the creativity of Catholic artists in all languages, including English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and more. A.G.C. Mansineros
