17. I hate gerrymandering. The supreme court said they had no role in preventing it. The GOP has blocked multiple attempts to prevent it through legislation because they benefit from it. Until it’s prevented by federal law, I hope every Dem state steps up. But the effect is going to be to everyone’s detriment sadly.

    It’s a response to Texas Republicans ***actually trying to pass a gerrymander already weeks ago*** 

    Dems left the state to delay it and raise awareness. And Republicans were so mad they tried to have FBI arrest them.

    Newsom is literally letting the voters decide whether to gerrymander or not. Unlike Texas, where a gerrymandered state senate and a gerrymandered state house are acting to further gerrymander the congressional cohort.
