"There were 28,900 open positions in the second quarter of this year — over a third fewer than a year earlier, when 47,000 positions were available. The data reflects the situation on 1 June and is based on the stats agency's job vacancy survey.
"Open job positions were exceptionally low at the beginning of June. The last time levels were this low was in 2016, and even at the peak of the Covid pandemic, more jobs were available than now," said Matti Lahdenmäki, Senior Statistician at the number crunching agency."

I was more satisfied with my job during peak covid. No jackasses at the top forcing everyone back to a miserable office.

Covid was when a lot of e-commerce and IT business were booming so no surprise there.
Peak covid all it-firms were hiring like crazy and everyone has open positions. So this in itself says nothing without additional analysis, context and sector numbers etc.
Covid times were golden for me. Not only did I have work, I could mostly work from home and I’ve never been more productive since.
The situation of open jobs is becoming worrisome because it has remained low or stagnant for long now. Businesses are not hiring rather firing…in Finland.
Compared to lets say 10 years ago. How many jobs have gone because tehcnology?
