For the first time, Moldova will present a pan flute-shaped sculpture at the international Burning Man festival. The art project “Flute from The Future” will be exhibited at the prestigious event, taking place between August 25 and September 2 in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA. The festival is globally renowned for celebrating contemporary art, innovation, and free expression, and annually brings together tens of thousands of participants from around the world, reports IPN.

According to the representatives of the BurningFlute project, the installation “Flute from The Future” is a large-scale ecological sound sculpture, inspired by the Moldovan nai – a traditional instrument of the national cultural heritage. The work pays tribute to the master Constantin Moscovici and proposes a futuristic reinterpretation of the instrument, where musical tradition merges with technology and interactive art.

“It is a step towards positioning Moldova as an authentic and vibrant cultural destination,” is mentioned on the official project page.

The initiative is coordinated by the creative agency TagMe, which manages all stages: creation, production, promotion, and fundraising. According to the project team, participation in Burning Man is not just an artistic presence, but a cultural statement through which Moldova asserts its identity in an innovative international context.

To support this participation logistically, on July 31, a charity concert called “Pan Flute SymPho Rock” was organized at the Green Theater in Chisinau. The funds raised from the tickets were directed towards the creation and transportation of the installation to the USA.

The support campaign continues online on the official platform of the project: www.burningflute.md, where those interested can make donations or purchase merchandising items with an artistic theme.
