Knew this was Beds before I even opened it. They are on all the roads into one of my work places. No idea whether they will all land on the same day!!
I saw this road sign the other day just past Slip End and I was so confused about how vague it was! Exact same dates and closure lengths as well, odd they’ve been placed on other roads
Makes sense, rains all the time in Britain, the vagueness is a good idea lol
Well, you never know. If the wind is blowing the wrong way or they get the wrong kind of rain, this side of the equinox…
We had a few of these in Oxfordshire recently ahead of resurfacing and line-painting.
I saw a STOP sign where someone had added a question mark at the end. Not quite what you are asking for but I liked it.

One of them in Reading that just says until further notice due to an unsafe structure
They are doing this to my road and we had a leafelt today. The process is
1. Swwep clean road
2. Spray bitumen
3. Cover in chippings
4. Open road to allow chippings to bed in.
Not of this can be done when it is wet so this work is spring / summer work. The contractor will have a few roads to do.

They set up a road closure sign in my village that just said “Road Closed. Find another route” okay. Helpful diversion.
I admire their honesty
Yeah – I was incensed to find a closed road with no warning and upon checking the website it said something like “ X road will be closed on 3 days between 1st May 25 and 31st August 25 for tree cutting.” It didn’t even come up on google maps that it was closed each time I used it and it’s a country lane with a SEVEN mile detour when I have a time constraint to get my kids after work.
Maybe/Probably…
How old is that sign? Website was for Bedfordshire County Council Council…. which disappeared 15 years ago!

This car park sign is one of my favourites. Without context, it’s gloriously unhelpful – especially on Fridays or Tuesdays.

There’s a road sign near me that always makes me chuckle. At the junction of a motorway the sign says “delays possible”.
