With hundreds of wildfires burning out of control, Canada’s 2025 fire season is already the second-worst on record, as scientists report climate change is prolonging and exacerbating the burning, leading to more destruction, evacuations and smoke-filled skies. Sophie Samaille and Yuka Royer report.

  1. At this point, unfortunately, they should consider the possibility of sabotage. They started their attack on California the same way.

  2. It's only just the start folks. Turns out… the climate scientists were indeed wrong. Climate change is faster than expected, sooner than expected, and it isn't linear, it is exponential. We needed to act in the 1970s. Now it is too late. Though, to be sure… we might discover some miracle technology.

  3. What temps do plants/grass/trees burst into flames!_ grass generally needs to reach temperatures between 572°F (300°C) and 900°F (482°C) to burst into flame.—So deliberately set on fire or by a broken bottles/lightening/discarded cig end etc?
