Athens Business Park

A new business park is being developed in Athens, aiming to support the growth of small businesses.

The Athens Business Park is dedicated to supporting the rapid growth Athens is experiencing, particularly for small and local businesses.

Stringer Vogtle with Vogtle Howell Companies said, “These spaces are designed to be totally turnkey for small businesses that are looking to grow, maybe beyond their house or somewhere where they’ve been operating before.”

The new development will include 17 units, ranging in size from 1,000 to 2,100 square feet. Each one will come with its own restroom, garage, and air conditioning.

Developers say they realized there just weren’t enough options for businesses looking to rent smaller spaces, especially with how fast Athens is growing. That’s when they saw an opportunity to step in.

Vogtle said, “By offering shorter-term leases and lower rents than many of the available warehouses in the Athens-Huntsville areas, we feel like we’re bridging that gap a bit to really cater to small businesses.”

Pre-leasing just started a few weeks ago, and a few businesses have already signed on.

The project is expected to be finished by early 2026.
