  1. well I am sure that this will help the government deal with asylum claims 🙄

  2. Imagine needing a loophole to stop unchecked migrants crossing the border of your country and living in a hotel

  3. Bet there are some greedy investors now looking for hotels to buy in counties bordering Epping 😂

*Actually* thinking about COVID, the new hotel has likely been selected and probably already been purchased by members of the government on the sly

  4. If we changed the hotel system to an Opt-in one we’d see some good results.

Is your local area deprived of asylum seeking migrants? You got a lot of empty council houses and low skilled jobs that need doing? Sign up today!

  5. Tonnes of hotels in Farringdon and wider Islington. Plus a thriving economy and welcoming residents.

    Accommodate where needed.

  6. Put them in tents on army bases and stop the endless free benefits.
    Wake up Starmer

  7. But these will simply move thr problem into outsourced HMOs in working class towns and streets in the north of England.

  8. Good.

My step mum works for the council providing housing to emergency people.
The amount of times she’s had to tell British families sorry we can’t house you or put you up anywhere is unreal. This includes people of domestic abuse. Another example is a family of 6 got told by the services to sofa surf as there’s no houses or flats for them. Both parents lost their jobs, one due to health. Yet, local council can’t help. They basically were bankrupt and told to sofa surf or live on the street until a house came available. Fucking joke.

I guess though as long as unknown male has a roof over their head then it’s fine.

Time we looked after our own because we are failing that. I’m not saying house the drug addicts who don’t want help. I’m saying there’s 1000s who need help but because the system is broken and there’s no room, they get left on the street.

  9. Great, so now we have to waste even more money on some other form of housing for these asylum seekers.

I’ve also seen and heard plenty of Conservative MPs/councillors criticising the government for using hotels to house them. Lets not forget that it was a Conservative government that started doing exactly that, and Labour have committed to end the use of hotels by the end of this Parliament. This is an issue that was created by the Conservatives, and the contracts were handed out to their donors and friends, who are benefiting financially from all of this. Now, the current Labour government will have no choice but to implement some other form of more expensive housing if this court ruling is upheld.
