Here’s what happened before and after the Alaska summit.

After meeting for nearly three hours on Friday, President Trump and President Putin emerged to proclaim progress. But they exited their scheduled news conference without explaining what, exactly, they have achieved.

One thing that was evid ent on Friday: There was no deal made. And the ceasefire Trump said he wanted in place when the summit ended was far from becoming a reality as he increasingly put the onus on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to “make a deal.”

  3. I hate that the eu is supporting ukraine, those weapons from the usa don't come for free and the eu gives the money to ukraine so ukraine can pay it and that with no interest charges or any kind of repay

  16. Ah yes, I’m sure the peace deal talks will be very quick and totally not be stalled or cancelled and then it was as if there was no “deal” at all (and if you don’t agree to a ceasefire, you can’t say you broke it). 🙄 🤦‍♂️

  25. Just as a reminder America, you are the country that has benefited from NATO the most. 158 Canadians didn't come home from Afghanistan because we upheld article 5 of the NATO agreement.

  27. We need to be realistic at this point tbh, I’ve been championing Ukraine and their valiant defense. However they have as much chances of actually getting their land back as the Palestinians do.

    The war is effectively over, and I can see Ukraine being forced to give up the land that they have lost. Every day more and more Ukrainians die, and Russia isn’t lacking manpower.

  33. What is the point of this narrative? He understands that it isn't what he wants all the time, but what he wants is peace, and if giving a few inches to putin, or zelensky brings that closer, shouldn't that be what we care about?

  34. how do you compell russia to a ceasefire without the us getting directly involved because know it takes two to agree to a ceasefire. There's just no realism in the criticism.

  35. I don't know why we just don't pull out like and I don't mean Ukraine. I mean us like stop funding them. Don't be involved. I mean they're not connect it to us. They're not part of NATO so they don't honestly deserve help from us. If the Nations near them because they could possibly get involved, want to assist? Go ahead. That's up to them. Get themselves involved but we should not be involved in this. No money, no weapons, no troops nothing. Good luck Godspeed

  36. Russian here. Why so many americans care about Russian-Ukranian war? Better take care of your own country. Our regime is bad and most of russian people (not Russia's citizens, russian people) want our government put in electric chairs. Yet, you have no right tagging us, as in nation, as barbarian war criminals invading democratic country. With I might add, a president who cancelled the elections and has just a little less of a "legitimately acquired estate and fortune" than ours. All of that especially considering the US history of doing simillar things and ESPECIALLY considering about who this exact youtube short is and by WHOM the guy in question was elected.

  39. zelensky made himself look like a joke.
    He wanted to join Nato so that Russia don't attack and take over Ukrainian land, Now Russia will be taking a lot of territories as part of the deal and Ukraine doesn't get to join NATO.
    So brother went back to square one but lost 1/5th of his country for no reason.
