TICAD9 -Day 1- (1) (The Prime Minister in Action)

On August 20, 2025, Prime Minister Ishiba attended the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), held in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. 

Prime Minister Ishiba attended the forum on the Economic Region of Indian Ocean-Africa and delivered an address, which was followed by meetings with H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Ali YOUSSOUF, Chairperson, African Union Commission, and H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, respectively. 

Afterwards, he attended the “Building Sustainable, Resilient and Inclusive Food Systems and Local Economies in Africa anchored in the Blue Economy and Agriculture” and delivered an address. He then held meetings with H.E. Mr.Joseph Nyumah BOAKAI, President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, H.E. Mr. Bassirou Diomaye FAYE, President of the Republic of Senegal, H.E. Mohamed Ould CHEIKH EL GHAZOUANI, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, H.E. Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo MNANGAGWA, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and H.E. Mr. João Manuel Gonçalves LOURENÇO, President of the Republic of Angola, respectively.
