  1. I’m for pride of our flag but I find gestures like this tacky. A flag on a poll hanging in a street, outside a shop or in a garden is better.

  2. There is nothing wrong with st. George crosses, but I have to say It always makes me laugh when Racist are waving St. George flag, especially those from reform, if only they knew who St. George was 😆 🤣 …he was Turkish and looked like those guys coming here on boats 🚢 the irony is lost on them unfortunately.

  3. Love this kind of thing as a laugh when we are making a good run in a football tournament. Tacky otherwise.

  4. all it’s missing is an Orange Hall and a few lads in their bowler hats marching up and down with their giant Lambeg drums and … we’ve moved to Northern Ireland

    Tiocfaidh Ar La!

  5. What have gammons done to me that when I see a flag I think ‘uh oh’ rather than feel any kind of pride?

  6. Dunno why but I assumed that was a red cross some angry guy put on for “stop driving over the middle”

  7. I’ve seen so many of these in England lately, and we all know ‘x’ marks the spot but none have had any treasure under them, what gives ? I’ve just had angry people complain about me digging holes everywhere

  8. Weren’t these lot crying when protestors were disrupting highways, and now they cheer on vandalism of vital road infrastructure?

The best part is they think it’s an exception that this is removed withn a couple of days. I can make a report to the council about a loose flagstone and they’ll send somebody to repair it within 3 hours tops. The council doesn’t manage these repairs, it’s Kier, a contractor, who work within strict standards.

  9. Someone’s hung a bunch of union jacks up on some bridges over the A3. Two of them are upside down.

  10. It’s a non issue isn’t it. If you want to hang a flag absolutely no one is stopping you from hanging one off your house. If you draw one in the middle of a roundabout the council will have to remove it, not because it’s a George flag, but because it’s tampering with important road markings. We all know people who do this are creating an issue that isn’t there so that they can play victim when it inevitably gets painted over and use it to spark unrest. The best thing we can do is not play up to it.

  11. Does this symbolise the country going round in circles while resources slowly drain away?

  12. Yes it’s technically just the flag of England, but it is not difficult to guess the motivation behind someone going to the effort of doing this, in the context of increasing debate regarding asylum seekers, immigration, and the rise of Reform UK. I doubt their best mate is called Amir, put it that way.

Yeah I’m making assumptions. But I’ll bet you a tenner I’m not wrong. They’re called flag f***ers for a reason.

It is also literally just vandalism, of course. The person who did this is a criminal. Which is ironic given the shite that lot believe about asylum seekers.

It’s sad that England’s flag has been hijacked by far right nationalists and racists. But the sadness of the situation does not change the fact that it has indeed happened. And typically those who use the… unthinking mans argument of “yeah but its are flag innit” have a much deeper seated and less honourable reason for their position.

  13. The greatest part of this whole hubbub is that while everyone thought it was Birmingham City Council (led by Labour), this was in Bromsgrove, which is run by Reform UK

A council spokesman said: “All road markings on the county’s highway network are strictly regulated for safety, including those on roundabouts of any size. Changes to agreed road markings must not be made unless approved by the Highway Authority, in line with these regulations.

“Unofficial actions on the highway network could be distracting or cause confusion to some road users so will therefore be removed.”

  14. Someone painted St Patrick’s cross on a roundabout?

  15. The Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish are gonna take forever to get theirs painted.

  16. They’ve done this in my town last few days, flags fucking everywhere too ..

  17. It’s not the English flag, it’s not even. Good lord, this is as dumb as the idiots buying that reform shirt where the union flag is upside down…

I can’t stand flag shaggers. We have the best looking union flag and these prats ruin it. Sad lol

  18. There’s no reason to wave the flag other than on St George’s Day or during sporting events unless you’re a massive twat trying to make outsiders feel uncomfortable.

Go to Northern Ireland, drive into a flag-waving Republican area like the Bogside or Crossmaglen, and tell me you don’t feel a teensy bit uncomfortable as a Brit.

  19. Wondered what that was today. Gee don’t I feel patriotic driving over my flag with dirty tires, thanks for that.

  20. Wait till people find out St George is also the patron saint of Palestine 😅

  21. This sub should change its name. Nothing great or British here.

  22. If it stops people from driving over the dot instead of around it, I’m all for!
