I'll add this to the two other weird things I've found on beaches – an untouched 4 pack of Carling (some years out of date), and a 1000 lb unexploded bomb.

I was wondering what other odd stuff people have found on UK beaches.

(I left the bowling ball on a bench, being protected by a lost sunhat that someone had thoughtfully left there)

  1. Reminds me of that “Pete & Pete” episode where they try to get rid of the bowling ball and it keeps coming back.

  9. I found a bowling ball in my town when I was 16! Just sitting on a bench outside a shop in the high street. This was after all the shops had shut around 7pm so I took a good long walk around the town centre and it was still there. Finders keepers. Its name is Tony (engraved on it)! More than 20 years later I still have it.

  17. Bowl it down the pavement and see how many times you can keep doing it before someone tells you to stop

  18. I might go down to Bexhill tomorrow to see if it’s still there.
