Eight passengers carrying forged documents were arrested on 5 August during checks on a flight from Athens, Luxembourg airport police said.

The flight was carrying 133 passengers when it landed at Findel, 35 of whom were inspected in cooperation with the Customs and Excise Agency.

On 7 August, an inspection of another flight, also from Athens, found seven passengers in possession of false documentation. Additionally one third-country national, travelling with genuine documents, was found not to have a visa valid for Luxembourg.

The public prosecutor’s office was informed of both interceptions and ordered the confiscation of the fraudulent documents and the preparation of official reports.
