Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands has been targeted in a deepfake pornography attack, where her face was digitally placed on porn actors’ bodies using artificial intelligence. The videos were shared on platforms such as MrDeepFakes, which has since been shut down, according to a report in the Daily Beast.FBI and Dutch authorities involvedThe Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Dutch authorities worked together to take down the websites hosting these videos. MrDeepFakes and similar sites also circulated AI-generated pornographic content involving around 70 other Dutch women. However, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Previous attacks reportedThe Dutch news website Seher Og Hor reported that Catharina-Amalia had a “starring role” in these deepfakes. This is not the first time she has been targeted. In 2022, morphed videos of the princess were also circulated online.

She studied Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam beginning in 2022. Her bachelor’s thesis, “Beyond Disclosure: Bridging the Gap Between the Artificial Intelligence Act and the Charter of Fundamental Rights with Deepfaked Bodies,” examined the conflict between AI legislation and European fundamental rights.
