China, much like Russia would prefer Europe split as much as possible on defense, trade , etc…. Makes it easier to do what both of them do best, bully smaller countries into submission. If there was no Russia or if it was a normal functioning democracy, there would be very little need for NATO.
On the other hand it’s nice to see China double down and work on ruining what’s left of their relationship with the west, this time to offer some empty platitudes to support Russia’s imperial ambitions.
