Bhopal: Chhattisgarh chief minister Visnu Deo Sai on Thursday left for a ten-day trip to Japan and South Korea to woo investment to the state in the key sectors of electronics, automobile and food processing.
Mr. Sai is scheduled to attend the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, in which 160 countries and nine international organizations are participating.
This is Mr. Sai’s first foreign tour as a chief minister.
“I am going on a tour of Japan and South Korea to tap investment for the state. I will attend the World Expo in Osaka. Both Japan and Korea have made significant progress in electronics, automobiles and food processing and Chhattisgarh has immense potential in these sectors. We will present our new industrial policy and invite the local industrialists to set up their ventures in Chhattisgarh”, Mr. Sai said before leaving for Delhi.
He is scheduled to leave for Japan from Delhi on Thursday.
Mr. Sai is scheduled to return on August 31 after winding up his two-nation tour.
The chief minister said the new industrial policy of the state government has attracted industries and investments to the state.
According to him, the state has so far signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 6.5 lakh crore for setting up industries in the state.
Several projects have already started while others are in the process of implementation, he said.
