“Accident” or not, the crew should have noticed. Don’t vessels this large typically have anchor drag detection or basic safety protocol to keep track of this? When an anchor drags, the ship’s position noticeably changes and alarms should go off. It’s basic watchkeeping. Ignoring it in Finnish waters doesn’t sound so much like an “accident” as much as (at best) severe negligence, and at worst something malicious.
No one believes that
I sailed for ten years on oil tankers. Ain’t no way in hell that ship was dragging anchor for that long without the deck crew and officers being fully aware of it.
Yes, the same kind of accident as when someone falls out of a window in Russia. Kremlin says the word and “accidents” happen
Oopsie of the century. Sure…
It’s weird that no one had told them what was buried at the bottom of that sea. There are old war gases and explosives there. It wouldn’t make sense to drag anything along there.
A big pile of money would probably make you forget all that.
It was definitely not an accident, but a deliberate act.
Should have gone with the good old “we were all fucking hammered” instead.
Bullshit.
common mistake, apparently
Let’s stop accepting ”it was an accident” as an excuse for deliberate actions.
Yeah and I have some lovely swamp land in Florida really cheap bro.
Narrator: It was not.
He looks very sincere. I trust him. Why would he lie?
>According to Vadatchkoria, armed authorities, who he claims lacked prior experience in seizing a tanker, could have caused a disaster by dropping down from helicopters in full combat gear.
>He pointed to strict rules on an oil tanker’s deck to prevent static electricity that could cause sparks.
>”It was a serious breach of maritime safety. We followed all their orders. They had no reason to be so aggressive,” he said, adding that the Finnish authorities did not say why they had boarded his ship.
So this captain is all about maritime safety, but then “accidentally” drags his anchor for 90km? What a clown.
Was he trying to pull up buried cables?
Getting caught in the act was the accident.
“Ohh whoopsie”
“It was an accident” says chief of FSB after 832 oligarchs and their entire families fell out of windows in one year.
The captain and crew should be put in a work camp or something to repay the damage they caused. Fucking terrorists
Dude looks like he’s straight from innsmouth.
I think he was talking about how he came to be on this earth
For sure. Would be shame if he’d be thrown in jail by accident and left there but accidents happen. I’m sure he’d understand
“Sorry i accidentally dragged my anchor along the sea floor on purpose”
