We shouldn’t be digging up turf anymore this isn’t the 1850s, pay for heating like everyone else
Surely it’s more cowardly to be unwilling to make the hard decisions.
Of course they do.
So how are SF voters going to square this circle? Government pushes through environmentally positive legislation. SF throws the toys out of the pram. Almost as if they have no clear policy on climate change at all.
I find this whole topic extremely odd. You have the Shinners crying out to continue turf cutting , I thought given what they buried in bogs they would be happy to see this.
Sinn Fein really know how to spin figures to try and make this sound like a huge problem:
>four per cent of households across the State relied on it as the main energy source to heat their homes, which rose to 9 per cent in rural communities and over 30 per cent in some areas.
What area specifically is 30 turf for main heating sources because I have a theory that it’s some random 10 mile long road with 3 houses, one of which uses turf which would be an outlier for sure.
The cowardly thing would be to back down and continue kicking this can down the road like successive governments have done
>EXCLUSIVE: Pearse Doherty upset, refuses to give solution.
Imagine trying to argue by using a 25 year old report and saying FF and FG are falling into line for the fucking Green party lol
How is it possibly cowardice to stick to the unpopular option.
SF seem to be brutal on the environment.
I can’t wait to meet SF canvassers and tell them this sort of pro-environmental destruction stuff is why they’ll be getting my second lowest transfer ahead of FG – instead of a no. 3 or 4
I can’t wait for the smokey coal ban. It will make it much harder to buy as it can only be got from the north. It has the air quality here fecked in the winter. Going out for a run in the evening I am coughing up black stuff when I get back. Fuck SF and this BS.
Imagine if, 50 years ago, all the boglands in Ireland had been planted with trees. Look at Sweden with exports in sawn wood. Just sayin’.
‘In 2020, Sweden exported $3.37B in Sawn Wood, making it the 3rd largest exporter of Sawn Wood in the world. At the same year, Sawn Wood was the 6th most exported product in Sweden.’

I’ll absolutely have to remember this for the next election, so I can bring it up if I ever see any SF canvassers.
Sinn Fein have a terrible record on environment policies.
