Hosting FIBA EuroBasket 2025 in Tampere as one of the competition’s four hosts, alongside Latvia, Poland, and Cyprus, Finland completed a consecutive four-game streak in preparation encounters.
Their latest win came against another co-host, Poland, finishing with the impressive 106-87 victory.
This time, unlike the other three friendly games, Lauri Markkanen didn’t erupt for a stellar performance, but still provided 6 points and 7 rebounds in 17:35 minutes.
Olivier Nkamhoua led the Scandinavians with 18 points, while three of his other teammates finished in double-digits too. Jordan Loyd had a 17-point losing effort.
Lassi Tuovi’s team already beat Igor Milicic and his players four days ago with the 97-88 road victory against the red-and-white national team away in Sosnowiec.
As said, both Finland and Poland will organize parts of the Group Phase at FIBA EuroBasket 2025, respectively in Group B – welcoming Germany, Lithuania, Sweden, Montenegro, and Great Britain – and Group D – with France, Slovenia, Israel, Belgium, and Iceland.
