  4. The Romania – Hungary beef is something that I love to watch.

    It’s so underrated but with such meme potential, I’d say is better than the trite Serbia-Croatia-Bosnia beef at this point.

  5. Lmao I’m Hungarian and not even mad. There is a clear cause and effect in play here. Can’t treat minorities like a floormat for decades/centuries and then expect them not to bite back…

    Matter of the fact is Slovakians and Romanians (also Wallachians) fought heroically in the last two independence wars of the Kingdom of Hungary.

    The two being:

    – The Rakoczi’s War of Independence 1703-1711

    – Hungarian Revolution of 1848-1849

    (also Croats fought tirelessly on our side for nearly a millenia)

    When we settled with the Habsburgs at 1867 minorities who did a lot of our legwork to get there didn’t get jack shit. No autonomy or rights. So the bad blood is justified and makes sense.

    This is not something they teach in Hungarian schools.

  7. A war that could’ve been avoided has the Entente agreed to fairly solve the issue and allow plebiscites.
    They could have had a more stable Hungary and instead opted to destroy the country and install Horthy.

  8. Is Hungarian-Romanian enmity a thing? I know this year the anniversary of Trianon was declared to be a public holiday in Romania, ofc much to the anger of Hungarians there and Hungary.
