  1. Canada will remove its retaliatory 25% tariffs on a wide range of U.S. consumer goods that meet the rules of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, a move intended to lower tensions with the White House. Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to announce the change after cabinet discussions, and officials say the policy will be adjusted to align more closely with U.S. measures. Canada will, however, likely retain 25% duties on U.S. steel and aluminum and tariffs on U.S. autos, sectors targeted by President Trump. The shift prepares for the upcoming USMCA review and signals a renewed emphasis on that trade framework.

  2. This is fair, I mean the US took tariffs off USMCA goods in April.

  3. Retaliatory tariffs are just a tax on the consumer anyways.

  4. This is not what I voted for. First the dst and now this.

  5. If the U.S. is not putting tariffs on goods covered by the existing trade agreement, it is sensible to mirror this. The grassroots boycott will go on.

  6. Canada is still playing a dumb game. Their pride is getting in the way of good policy.

  7. This is not a time to be lenient. Trump responds to leaders who are strong not who give up easily
