  1. What a shit article linking to a Tik Tok.

    “Kiersten”

    You’re welcome.

  2. Yeah, but this is the first time I have heard her correct it. I won’t say it wrong again…

  3. I have a name that peo0le jist could not get right the first time, no matter what. Not even on mail sometimes. I gave a up a long time ago and Dunst is not that much older than me.

  4. As someone else with a name that gets consistently fucked up I get it, I just let people get it wrong

  5. We have the same name, and the same fuckin problem. *I FEEL YOU GIRL🥲*

  6. That’s too bad. Kristy Dorft is a good actress and people should make an effort so say her name correctly.

  7. For most of my childhood (which coincided with Spider-Man) I thought her name was Kristen. I still accidentally say that sometimes, sorry :/

  8. I feel like we’ve been over this since forever??

It always comes up that people are saying her name wrong and she’s been in the entertainment industry for like 30 years.

  9. As a fellow kyeer-sten kirsten (who goes by kirstie bc it’s easier, see username lol) from the USA, can confirm this is exactly what it’s like. I get that Kristen is more common here but it still is kinda baffling the way people get so confused by it

  10. I’m still working on getting Ralph Fiennes name correct.

  11. I feel like I set my own daughter up for this same fate. Everyone calls her Juliette but that’s not her name.

  12. No one gets my name right either, so I feel her pain. The funniest thing is that people will see the spelling and make an assumption without ever pausing to think ‘hey, maybe I don’t know how this pronounced…’

  13. This never happened when our movie trailers had narrators. But we traded them for ignorance.

  14. Kirsten? I’ve been calling her ‘Crandall,’ oh I’ve been making an idiot out of myself!

  15. It’s ok, Christine Dumpst. You’re still the best MJ.

  16. Wait’ll they find out how Neil Peart pronounced his last name.

  17. Every Kirsten I know has the same story.

I actually changed my name in part because I was so tired of everyone constantly getting it wrong. It grates on your soul.

  18. Willem Dafoe said people still call him “William.” I know I did until he hosted SNL.

  19. As a Hispanic, I love that Spanish speakers have no issue saying my name because all names are basically phonetic.

    “Quirstén”

  20. Had a kid in middle school show up with the name Amit. Being midwesterners, we didnt know how to pronounce it. Someone just started pronouncing it Ah-me. Idk makes sense, silent t. Then years later like senior year, now he’s Ah-mitt.

Like man, you couldnt say something the first day? Or years together on the basketball team?

  21. It’s not everyone else’s fault Dunst’s parents couldn’t spell the name they pronounced.

  22. Ok I was saying it right.

    Everyone says my name wrong.
Correcting them becomes a chore because some people get insulted & some will be trapped in an endless loop as they keep trying to pronounce it right, but don’t… and no matter how many times you try to move on they don’t.

    So I get it.

  23. Isn’t this just a case of Americans pronouncing names differently to Brits and other English speakers?

Generally, Kirsten would be pronounced with the “ir” sound in “birth” or “first”, the same as with the name Kirsty. I always just assumed her version is an Americanism like saying “Airon” for Aaron, “Creg” for Craig and “Gram” for Graham.

  24. I’ve always gotten get her name right because I have a friend with the same name, who also has had to deal with the same problem of people getting it wrong all the time, and she explained how to pronounce it properly.

  25. As a fellow Kiersten, i get it. I get tired of correcting people. So many different spellings of the name 🫠

  26. Everyone knows she’s Kristen Durst, wife of Fred.

  27. Cate Blanchett is another one that most people mispronounce. It’s BLANCH-it, not blanch-ETTE.

  28. Deadpool didn’t know how to pronounce it too in Deadpool 2.
