O’Connell Bridge blocked by Pro-Palestine protesters during rush hour

  1. I’d love to see this investigated to see exactly who is encouraging this.

It’s a good way to undermine support for Palestine.

  2. These scum really need to be locked up.

There is a really serious crisis in Gaza, and these cunts just hijack it so they can “legitimately” piss people off.

  3. Bunch of fucking losers and oddballs. Ranting and raving and banging pots and pans. Why do they all have their faces covered?

  4. Gotta love the armchair activists here who clearly think protests should only take place where they’re not affected by them.

If being delayed slightly causes you to “drop” support for people taking a stand against genocide, then that says more about you than anything.

  5. There is a small group of people on the bridge in Fermoy with Palestinian flags with “beep for peace” signs, and you know what is happening? People are beeping. Is Netanyahu shitting it? Of course not, but it is about visibility and buy in from the public, and if you can do that in even small ways, it does matter. I beep.

Conversely, causing stress at the most stressful time of the day does the opposite, and seems to be opportunistic trouble making.

  6. I got to say, that one lad, asking for the your man not to video a public protest, was highly inappropriate, and does a lot of damage to an otherwise important cause.

  7. Nah fuck that. We support the cause by and large. They are just blocking people doing their daily activities. Go off and work for the UN NGO’s if it means that much to you. Plenty of lads fighting for Ukraine from all over the world

Edit: Looking at the video he say that when they saw the Garda presence they turned their tails. Fuck all done so and just went antagonistic to the public going about their day. Camp outside the government. Throw eggs at the representatives, whatever.

  8. Seeing this annoy people is kind of proof they’re trying to get their message through to the right kind, no?

Protesting in a quiet area around people who already agree doesn’t cause a stir. Attention is what we need. Traffic/getting home from work half an hour late is not the end of the world. What’s happening in Palestine is.

If it was us, you’d pray for global civil disobedience and outrage. By showing VOCAL solidarity and not complying with the worlds want to suppress as much of this genocide as possible, we send the strongest message.

I’m not gonna argue about this with nationalist/racist/far right/or selfish people so I don’t care what vitriol you reply with ❤️ I genuinely hope you see reason in what I’m saying.

  9. They should do this outside the dail. Despite what the Irish regime currently in control says they have voted in the censorship bill in Brussels and they have not imposed a single sanction on Israel. Brussels hasn’t placed any sanction on Israel and Ursula von der Leyden spoke on your behalf telling Israel that it has the Europeans unions full support.

  10. Lots of people “support the cause” as long as it didn’t inconvenience them. It’s not really supporting the cause if you immediately go full Zionist the minute you get delayed in traffic.

  11. They should go and block all embassies of all governments currently busy oppressing minorities around the world. How does blocking people on their way to work or, idk, a medical appointment for instance, is going to help any cause? Next they will start supergluing their hands to the payments…

  12. Personally I’d love to see 1 day national strike in protest to Isreal.

  13. I don’t get why theyre hiding their faces? I thought they’d be proud to support the march? Seems really odd? Do they feel theyre being targeted by someone?

  14. I don’t understand, Ireland is overwhelmingly pro Palestine, why are they bothering people

This only is unproductive and aggregating people for whom they are already on board

  15. Irish news🫣

Feels like people have genocide fatigue….  Horrific to think everyday people are being murdered by Israel

  16. I agree what’s going on in Palestine is absolutely disgraceful and deplorable but I’ve seen a few of these protests while out and about around the country and most of the protesters seem to be the hippy dippy types off their heads on weed or else they’re just wasters mostly with fuck all else to do with their time. Just an observation.

  17. Load of wasters who never worked a day in their life blocking people from getting home because they have fuck all else to do

  18. I mean, we’re already a heavily pro-Palestine country, so I don’t know why they’re annoying other people who more than likely agree with them.”

  19. Irritating. Every fucking weekend the area comes to a standstill because of these people who are preaching to the choir about one issue or another. Who are they protesting to, and are they on O’Connell Street? And why is it always there?

I’m tired of paying for a LUAS ticket only to find out I have to walk half the way because of protesters blocking the line. And no, I can’t just go at other times. Why should I? I have things to do and not much free time. Pissing me off every week isn’t going to bring me around to your ideas/beliefs.

Rant over. Downvote away. I don’t care.

  20. Pity we don’t protest against our own government for the shitty job they are doing.
