During the night of August 23, 2025, Russia launched 49 Shahed-type attack drones and decoy drones of various types at Ukraine. As a result of the air battle, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 36 UAVs.
The information was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They explained that this latest air raid was repelled by aviation, air defense missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defense forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:30 in the morning, air defense had shot down or neutralized 36 enemy Shahed-type UAVs and decoy drones of various types in the north, east, and center of the country

The Air Forces added that as a result of the Russian attack, 13 drones hit seven locations in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions.
