  1. Ahh the Terence O’Neill days. When he actually wanted to build a modern NI, do away with sectarian shite and then lost it all because people voted for Paisely instead who was banging war drums and cementing a future of outdated infrastructure we still suffer from today.

  2. Funny I often say dream about how I would improve the road network around Belfast and it almost directly aligns with these drawings

  3. That roads website is so fascinating. I do find it mad that there were meant to be motorways all the way down to Newry, out to Castledawson, all the way up to Derry and Coleraine. The only one that was built to completion was the M1, and the rest are just husks of what they could have been.

  4. The biggest city in Ireland doesn’t appear to exist in this plan.

  5. I remember this from the description of the Belfast Urban Motorway or BUM.

  6. I could never understand why the M1 went out to Dungannon! Why wasn’t it built to go to Newry?
