Nato isnt an independent negotiator, it is just an extension of americas will. Appeasement to putin is because america views china as the larger threat to its world order.
Despite the hate Trump isn’t actually Putin’s puppet.
He just seems like that because Ukraine and Europe are cakes ready to be divided and eaten. From the perspective of the food, all eaters look the same.
Actually from EU side it’s not about: “Putin, end the war” at all.
It’s about:
“We must defeat Russia on the battlefield” (c) Borrel (and not only him)
“We will give everything to Ukraine so the war can continue till the last Ukranian”(c)
And ridiculous, inappropriate ultimatums demanding that Russia capitulate.
To demand capitulation of the other side, you must first win the proxy war, and the West is obviously losing it.
All EU is doing is opposite to diplomacy and searching for peace.
Trump understands that and trying to make USA jump off this sinking boat to let Ukraine and too much warmongering EU to sink on their own if they are willing to do so.
so why eu didn’t ditch nato and usa, have a real Europe one.
In a way this is true, but I don’t think people understand why.

To be perfectly fair, NATO should be 10x bigger than Putin (US military technology is incomprably better than Russia’s).
It should also have walked all the way from across the room to within 5 inches of Russia while yelling that its a defensive alliance. Maybe Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, and Afghanistan can smoulder in the background as examples of how much we actually care about the “rules based order.”
Also if Ukraine was encircling and destroying Russian troops, we would all laugh obnoxiously at Putin’s cries for a ceasefire (until he started nuking things maybe). It would be equally dumb for Russia to do agree to one now without extracting the deal they want. Why treat this as a moral question instead of a strategic issue?
Obviously I wish the fighting would stop immediately. But I’m not surprised that it hasn’t – the winning side generally doesn’t let the enemy regroup during a ceasefire.
Funny thing is not many peace proposals from Europe last couple of years no?
