August the 25th, 2025 – Croatian olive growing is set to be in the focus of New York as the gorgeous island of Brač in central Dalmatia will host a prestigious international symposium.
The long history and tradition behind the growing and general cultivation of olives across Croatia has marked the lives of centuries of families. From Dalmatia and the islands to the Istrian peninsula, olives have shaped the country’s agriculture just as much as maritime heritage.
Olive olive from Croatia has won plenty of awards and attracted attention from across the globe on multiple occasions, with Istrian oil frequently being declared the best in the world. Now, Croatian olive growing and traditions will become the focus of no less than New York.
As Morski writes, Croatia and the Adriatic coast will be flung into the spotlight this autumn. The International Symposium of Olive Oils of the Croatian and Adriatic Coast will be held on the island of Brač, spotlighting one of central Dalmatia’s most stunning locations. The symposium will take place in Postira, and it will take the shape of an educational and international event that will bring in organisers from New York.
Widely known for being the world’s most prestigious olive oil competition of all, NYIOOC will take its place where olives have shaped the land almost since time began – Croatia.
This is the first time that an event of this international calibre has been held in Croatia, with the clear goal of continuing to strengthen Croatian olive production’s already very enviable presence on the global map of liquid excellence.
