  2. She absolutely bag fumbled her career in a couple months. She capitalized on her image and made a bunch of money, but no one will take her seriously as an actress anymore. She just sold her fucking bathwater.

    It’s wild seeing her career arc trajectory from what it could’ve been after Euphoria to what it looks like now.

    Both movies were sent out to the public without much fanfare, marketing, or just no buzz.

    Americana was just dropped into the lowest amount of theaters for a wide release.

    Eden I don’t even recall seeing any commercials for this film and it had Ron Howard directing with Jude Law staring.

    These two films were gonna bomb regardless of her status in the film or not.

  8. Didn’t know she had another movie coming out this week, and I live in LA and work in the industry. Marketing for movies, other than horror and tentpoles, has been awful for quite some time.

  11. I really liked Eden, and she was very good in it. Ana de Armas was amazing (I never realized she was that talented), but Vanessa Kirby was the GOAT, she is just magnetic and commanding on screen. 6,5/10

  12. To be fair on Eden, Sweeney is probably the sixth-most famous person involved in that film, so it’s more of a Ron Howard-Jude Law-Ana de Armas-Vanessa Kirby-Daniel Bruhl bomb before it’s a her bomb.

  14. Eden was decent, not great. It’s a bit of a slog but has all round good performances, and I’d go as far as to say Sydney Sweeney’s is one of the better ones (if you can look past her wavering germanesque accent). It is however the kind of film that doesn’t do well in cinema these days, not grand enough for the big screen.

  15. I’ve saw Eden at TIFF a year ago, I loved it. Sydney was perfectly fine in it. Ron Howard directed, Jude Law is in it too. Not sure why they aren’t pushing it, but they definitely aren’t. To be fair, it’s an art house movie that they are barely even promoting.

    I think it’s a mischaracterization to say this movie bombed cause Sydney isn’t a star, and shit on her acting.

  22. Zero advertising for either movie. Of the 4 theaters in my town only one was playing Americana this weekend but two showings a night, no matinee

  25. The whole hype around her is what? She’s moderately attractive and has larger than average breasts? Other than that, I don’t know anything about her. Friends of mine (adult males) can’t say anything else about her.
