Anti-war protest in Gaza City as Israel prepares offensive • FRANCE 24 English

Residents of Gaza City demonstrated this Thursday to call for an end to the war, as Israel approved a plan to seize Gaza City and prepares to launch its offensive and enter the city. Ceasefire negotiations appear to be at a standstill, although Hamas recently accepted a mediated proposal.

  1. If Israel had agreed to the cease-fire proposal back in June, why did it take Hamas nearly two months to finally agree? They should recognize the importance of time during wartime. I wish that Hamas's many sponsors could provide them with better advice. War is bad, peace remains the only viable options……

  2. Ok? Then get rid of Hamas, and release the hostages.

Like is this hard for you folks to understand?

Dont give me this crap about Hamas "accepts" a cease-fire plan from June. Nah, they wanted to roll the dice on that, and now that they are going down, they now want it?

    Too late for that.

  3. I wish politicians around the world put the same time, effort and pressure on hamas from killing Israelis as they do the netanyahu regime fro killing palestinians. Maybe that would lead to some progress…

  4. Civil disobedience is the thing of the past. That method has no effect for change in the present. Words and protests alone will not cause real change, only actions against the establishments where it hurts them the most will force the tides to turn.

  5. If they really want these attacks to end, maybe hammas should release the rest of the hostages. If i remember correctly, all these so-called peaceful people were celebrating the death of hostages and literally parading their dead bodies around the city, celebrating how great hammas is. All this escalation happened because of the terriost attack on October 7th, so if people want to be mad, they should be mad at hammas and iran for funding these terriost organizations throughout the Middle East.

  6. We had this bunch in the uk in the 30s and 40s they thought they were bigger than the police .till they tried marching down cable street to intimidate jewish people hundreds of thousands of brits came out barracaded the streets to stop them they just locked up the organisers and it all collapsed

  7. Check the recent polls conducted in gaza Judea and Samaria.

These protests just want Israel to stop their objectives to find the hostages, and to root out and disarm hamas, and for gaza to continue to feed off the unrwa teat in peace and quiet while repeating 07oct23 "over and over and over again" refer ghazi hamad, hamas spokesperson, interview 6th November 2023

  8. But you started it, you keep on sending rockets after rockets to Tel-Aviv, now you realize the consequence. Caveat emptor.
