  1. The question is how to solve it. People before buying search on the internet about the location. We the people have to talk shit about our location on the social media. Whatever, masive flood, problems, heat, whatever. And the prices gonna fall.

  2. While it does suck, she could also stop renting from the same types of people. I would never rent in a situation where that could likely happen. You have to vet the living situation, property owner, property manager, read all the fine print, ask if they will be raising rents every year, ask if they plan on selling, etc. If I dont like anything about the terms, ownership, management, etc I am not signing a rental agreement.

  3. Capitalism at its best… Enjoy it

She will have to move, she will have to until she is far, far away so she can get a lower price rental.

    It is heartbreaking

  4. I feel for her, but she’s not nearly pissed off enough to be the voice of the housing crisis.

  5. She didnt name the city she was living in so we don’t know what renter protections she may or may not have in her area. But typically, if you sign a one year lease and the property is sold the new owners need to honor the existing lease.

  6. We lose our humanity when every service is purely transactional.

  7. Excellent time to have your waterbed spring a leak in every room

  8. This happens constantly. Apartments get sold, they rename them, do some upgrades and raise the rent. Hold it for a couple years sell it again. Rinse and repeat.

  9. I would have far more compassion if she didn’t dress like a wannabe 17-year-old the ’80s called they want their lava lamp back

Enough money for lava lamps and enough pink hair dye to kill a horse but God forbid you have to pay rent

  10. You would think with Trump throwing people out the country, arresting the homeless for free labor, firing government employees that rent would go down in some areas. People have to be willing to move to an area that they can support themselves in.

  11. She will have to move into the labor camps. That is where this shit is headed. Renting itself will be for only half the population in the nation. Everyone else will be jailed.

  12. That is heartbreaking and I feel for her but it’s kinda weird she doesn’t remember if she signed a lease or not. I feel like that’s something you would remember. Either way, it’s still f***ed up.

  13. She needs to sue. Maybe even both landlords, and probably the real estate agent. If she is in the San Francisco area I would do it.

  14. Once people’s basic needs aren’t being met … housing being one of those … shit will hit the fan.

  15. One item that is never brought up is asking for a longer lease period. I would as for a three year lease all the time and was never turned down. Most renters were happy to lock in a long term renter and I was happy to lock in the cost. Knowing that I would likely be moving to another place in three years.

  16. even if she can stay for a year, she may have spent all of her savings on first and last months rent and the security deposit and may not have enough within the year to fund moving to another location. Those expenses are a lot for most people. It isn’t just as simple as picking up and moving because you have to be able to afford to do that. And the problem with renting in general anyway is that especially if it’s corporately owned, they’re gonna raise the rent on you every year and price you out inevitably so then you have to spend money on another first and last months rent and security deposit, losing whatever of your security deposit from the previous place oh and by the way, God forbid she or her child have any sort of medical issue in the process.

    American hopelessness.

  17. TAKE CARE OF YOUR PAPERWORK EVERYBODY!!❤️❤️ the monsters dgaf.. poor lady.. breaks my heart..

  18. This video is bs and propaganda, There are **no U.S. states where a signed fixed-term lease is automatically voided by a property sale.**
The differences only matter if you’re **month-to-month** or if the property is in **foreclosure**.

She said shes a 1 year lease

  19. I hope your lease doesn’t have that clause, or if it does that it is illegal in your state. But most likely you get to stay for a year no at your current rate. (Some states and/or leases allow it).
