A quick PSA. If you’re going to any of the County shows, fairs, displays, etc, don’t take your dog.
I was at the Edenbridge Show yesterday and the number of clearly overheating, panting dogs was ridiculous. There’s very little shade and while there were numerous places to get a drink, the dogs were clearly suffering.
What holiday? Working from 7 to 1530
Gonna go to Hanwell Zoo today as it’s my mother in law’s birthday and she lives near it. Dunno who’s gonna have more fun, me or my toddler. Love me some animals.
Thinking of joining the local gym, trying to get more active.
The boy’s nursery is open so we are child-free for the day. So will probably get overwhelmed by opportunity and do nothing until we pick him up early.
02 is doing everything in its power to stop me paying my phone bill it’s annoying as hell
On holiday in the IoW but blew a tyre on Saturday so car is out of action and the family is not happy.
Waking up in Aberystwyth where we used to live (without kids) and spend the morning on the beach with kids before driving home to a less glamorous place!
Sit in my swing chair and read a book all day. One of the cats might join me if I’m lucky.
I’m finally getting to watch my friend play some cricket for her new team! Every time she’s played before this I’ve been called away to do something else. I’m really looking forward to watching her thrive – she’s worked so hard and I’m so proud of her.
And then I might be able to persuade mt partner to go for ice cream with me since I’m pretty sure we’re not going to make it out for breakfast this morning.
I don’t get to take leave for another 21 days so just Not Being At Work is a very exciting prospect for the day!
As usual for every Monday that I’m off, I’m going to do my mum’s housework. I’ve got a bit of a list of extra things that need doing, so I have no idea when I’ll get home. When I eventually do get home, I’ve got my own list to get through, but that’s a problem for later. I need to get myself into gear first, which is always an issue these days.
I’m at work on a late today, but it’s double pay so I don’t mind!
Gonna have a bit of a lazy day until then.
Gonna have a shower, make a brew for my lovely husband and I, he’ll probably sit in bed and read for a while and I’m gonna crack on with some more Expedition 33.
Then later we’ll hole up in the living room with the air con (the garden is a sun trap…) and I might do some cross stitch or diamond art. I have a canvas I started last year that is SO close to being finished, I just need to do the last few rows 😅
Alas, I was awoken at 6:15 for an unquenchably urgent, religiously reverberating clang of a shit. 5 minutes later, and that was my lie-in done for…
I even remembered to kill my alarm so I wouldn’t wake up. That said, I did stove away 8 cans of that Hobgoblin low alcohol 3.4% IPA, and a couple of cans of Guinness – so I’m not at all surprised.
2 PM kip required…
Just setting off back to Bristol to go home 😢 We’ve spent the week in Devon and it’s been gorgeous. I really dont want to go home!! Lots of late nights and late mornings, getting up and going to the office tomorrow is going to be shit haha
There’s a food festival on every year on this bank holiday in my area, so I may have a quick trot around that. My sister is a chef and her workplace have a stall selling Yorkshire pudding wraps – she went through her whole weekend’s worth of forecast stock on the first day!
Then I have work this afternoon
Happy bank hol everyone! I personally just want to spend the day existing, sorting out laundry, having a big lie in. But my Finacee has organised for us to go to Go Ape unexpectedly. We’ll see if my relaxing bank holiday is maintained!
Forgot how small people were in the 17th century and grazed my head in the pub last night on a low beam.
I now look like Gorbachev…
So yeah – hat day today
Not bad, girlfriend left me yesterday which is quite tough. Then was woken up to screeching, a large cat had got into the house and attacked my much smaller cat, so she’s a bit distressed still. Woke up alone, which feels odd. Gonna take a nice long walk today I think!
Happy Bank Holiday people.
Today i will be mowing the lawns, power wash the garden slabs, wash the car, take the boys to the park, do a little quick shopping, place few orders for delivery at work tomorrow, and probably prep dinner.
Think that’s about it.
My wife’s taken the kids to see Coldplay at Wembley today and won’t be back till late evening tomorrow.
The sun is shinning, the dogs been walked and the house is tidy, so going to do fuck all for the rest of the day but eat and drink and relax.
No bank holiday for Scotland, but I work in a team where we’re all over the UK and everyone else is in England. Therefore, I’m logging in later than usual and having a very chill day of getting more work done than I normally would because there’s nobody around to ask me questions.
I’m going to pop to the beach, sunbathe and read a book for a few hours, then go food shopping.
Plan for today is simply breakfast (bacon sandwich again I think), then might check the oil level in the car and nip to b&m & b&q. Need some wd40 for a rusted lock, a bigger plant pot, for a plant that has outgrown its pot, and therefore I have a free pot available so I should buy another plant… oh and should probably get some sand and patio cleaner to sort the oil spill on my driveway too.
This is how the house turns into a jungle isn’t it…
Driving from South Wales to West London in 30 degree heat. I’m guessing it’s gonna take 8 hours.
