It’s not just about flexibility anymore. For the majority of American workers, remote work means being better employees and better pet parents.

  1. The constant ChatGPT-isms are nausea inducing. Leaving that aside I wonder how the WFH job market is gonna look like globally in the coming years. It doesn’t seem to be doing too well in my area.

  2. As a manager, I can confirm, the happiest, most productive people on my team are the ones working from home with pets.

  3. “up from 65% in 2015. That’s 94 million homes with dogs or cats. For the first time in American history, pet owners represent the overwhelming majority of the workforce.

This isn’t a niche group anymore”

    65%=”niche”. “71%”=”overwhelming”

    smh

this data showing pet ownership going Down in 2020/2021 is a fun choice. not at all sus. breeders couldnt keep up with the wave of covid puppy purchases for years to come, and owners surged, yet this shows nope, went down, bad data?

  4. Yeah ever since Covid my dog hasn’t returned to the office. Lazy bum

  5. Makes sense. My dog literally improved my work life balance more than any company perk ever did.

  6. I love wfh. Better for me in every way…

But in person/hybrid is a barrier to offshoring.

  7. The problem is that work from home means companies can hire cheaper workers from other countries much more easily. In-person workers are harder to replace.

  8. lazy selfish WFH enjoyer never think one second of the starving real estate companies. they lose millions because companies don’t need large overpriced office spaces anymore

  9. Forcing people back is going to backfire.

Imagine wasting talent because you don’t want to accept people have lives outside cubicles.

  10. My company is still pushing for 3 days a week in the office.

I guess they haven’t seen the writing on the wall or the 94 million households with pets.
