Louisiana is offended by this headline.
All fundamentalist movements destroy education. Fundamentalism is defined by the belief in the Bible as the font of all knowledge. It is the word of God, and the only truth. So what happens when faith and reality clash? Faith wins, always. Science, math, and engineering are flawed because they contradict the Bible.
History is usually scrubbed to mythologize the dominant culture. The scrubbed history is replaced with a mythology that glorifies the political leadership and culture.
Education as it has been traditionally approached is undesirable to authoritarian regimes like MAGA. The critiques laid out in the article are not critiques to MAGA adherents. This is exactly what they want.
