As a new 007 movie gets closer, one actor has taken himself out of the running in the funniest way: “A Texan should not play James Bond”

  1. Richard Madden and Henry Cavill remain my top picks.

Or let Jason Statham do one movie and let us have an R-Rated over the top Bond movie with him in the lead role.

  2. In defense, look how many Brits are taking American roles.

  3. Adam West (TV Batman) was considered for 007 in the 1960s, but declined bc he felt that 007 should always be British.

  4. I would love to see Robert Pattinson as James Bond. After I saw him in Batman I was completely blown away by his dramatic and action side in that one. He’s 39 so maybe 5 movies in him.

  5. Fuck it, cast seven actors and at the start of every new scene they rip off an incredibly lifelike mask to reveal their new face.

  6. Feel like half the time news like this comes out the actors were never actually in the running just want to keep their names in the headlines

  7. I feel like tom hardy would be good change of pace. Little bit of humor, some bruiser fights, some bjj submissions

  8. many of the actors in the Wire were from across the pond, and the Baltimore accent and dialect is fairly distinct. Sometimes it was noticeable but actors act. he needs to shoot another take on this take

  9. “There’s an overcorrection mistake in Hollywood” lol

  10. What if instead of a next Bond movie, we create a bimonthly box of curated snacks?

  11. Guys, whilst British and white, the role isn’t for me. I’m not an actor and I’m pretty unfit. I don’t plan on changing. I’m out.

  12. Fuck that my boy Boone says Chad would make a excellent James bond and we shouldn’t let cultural differences rob us of such a comedic gold mine.

  13. Let’s stop with the Bond/Superman/Marvel/reboots/remakes already. How about something new for a change?

  14. Gets closer? I think they’re at least 3 years away. Doesn’t sound like they’ve done shit on it

  15. Given an Australian played the role, being from the Commonwealth should be the nation requirement so not necessarily a Brit. As Canada is part of the Commonwealth, that means there is only actor from North America who should be considered, Michael Cera.

  16. Anyone who ever even remotely considered glen powell for bond should chew stones cause what the actual fuck.

Daniel Craig and glen mf powell as Bond in the same sentence makes me regret Ian Flemming as a human being, and I loved Casino Royale.

Its like saying Jay Z should play Prince.

  17. Bond needs to be:

    * Very, very British
    * Able to kick any man’s ass in the room
    * Attractive to any (straight) woman
    * Comfortable rocking a tuxedo and fitting in at a sophisticated event
    * Believable as an intelligent/capable spy – can’t come off as a dimwit meathead.

That’s it. Idris Elba could have been an all-time great Bond, but he’s way too old now. Sam Rockwell couldn’t have. Henry Cavill would have been perfect.

  18. Or bad actors for the role? Good call annoying guy that keeps getting shoved into movies

  19. The very first filmed Bond story was on American television, and he was an American spy called Jimmy Bond. True story.

  20. Give me an Irish bond to piss off a bunch of people
