Temporärer Annahmestopp für postalische Warensendungen in die USA Guten Tag
Ab dem 26. August 2025 kann die Schweizerische Post vorübergehend keine postalischen Waresendungen in die USA annehmen. Grund dafür sind neue Zollvorschriften der US-Regierung, die weltweit alle Postgesellschaften betreffen.
Die US-Regierung hat beschlossen, die bisher gültige Freigrenze von 800 USD bei der Einfuhr von Waren in die USA per 29. August 2025 aufzuheben. Ohne diese Freigrenze muss jede Warensendung – egal wie klein und mit welchem Wert – beim US-Zoll angemeldet und verzollt werden.
Die neuen Regeln betreffen alle Postunternehmen weltweit und werden sehr kurzfristig eingeführt. Wichtige Fragen zur Haftung und zur Umsetzung der neuen Vorschriften sind noch ungeklärt.
Aus diesem Grund sieht sich die Schweizerische Post gezwungen, vorerst keine postalischen Warensendungen für die USA mehr anzunehmen. Diesen Entscheid hat die Post im engen Austausch mit den zuständigen nationalen Behörden wie UVEK, BAKOM und der Aufsichtsbehörde PostCom getroffen.
Nicht betroffen vom Annahmestopp sind der Versand von Briefen (u.a. behördliche Dokumente und Urkunden) und von Expresssendungen via URGENT mit der FedEx Express Swiss Post GmbH.
Die Post prüft alle Optionen, damit der Annahmestopp raschmöglichst aufgehoben werden kann und Warensendungen wieder im Postkanal in die USA versendet werden können.

It’s not a swiss thing. Most of European posts don’t accept shipping to USA. The situation on the other side of the Atlantic is to chaotic and unstable for them to guarantee this service.
No way this measure to appear strong and nationalistic will backfire for US businesses, workers and consumers. /s

Are packages coming from US to Switzerland still delivered?
I sent a small package once via swiss post within europe. Paid 20 chf and they lost my package with 0 accountability (could just have been stolen by the delivery service, they just don’t care).
I would never send a package with swisspost to the USA, sounds like a terrible idea anyway.

This looks like a wonderful opportunity for someone to act as a courier for a watch seller to travel to the US and leave the items there.
I hope this is only one way. Just ordered a guitar in the US on friday 💀

To be fair…..$800 is a mad tax free level. Also nor always enforced as marking packages as a gift was often overlooked. They should setup a system where imports can be pre-paid to enable deliveries. Of any country that will put a creative solution…..its them
