Lmao i can easily visualize this great woman saying this.
God bless her
A Polish exit would be an open invitation to annex the Baltics and Belarus. Poland would once again stand alone as a buffer zone between east and west.
Maybe that’s what they want?
Our uprising veterans are amazing people, I had the pleasure of listening them on several occasions in Warsaw.
In these times of lack of empathy, lack of critical thinking, lack of vision, regarding any subject, be it the pandemic, vaccines, european politics etc. it’s actually emotional to read such a story. To me at least. She’s an example for all of us, the spirit of a literal warrior, the humanity of a humble human being, the wiseness of someone who’s seen it all.
Mad respect to the lady.
People on both the Polish left, right, centre, and whatever all try to usurp the legacy of the Home Army and their exploits to save Poland. The left will claim that they were anti-fascists and use them to prop up *their* modern ideological battle, the right will claim they were nationalists and use them to prop up *their* modern ideological battle, and the people in government will liken themselves to the Home Army and resistance fighters of WW2 for easy political points like the lot lizards they are.
The reality is that the Home Army and Polish freedom fighters were by far and large *pragmatists*, not *ideologues*. They fought the Nazis, the Soviets, collaborationists, etc and at times joined forces with other groups to achieve those goals because that’s the only thing they could do to stop the Nazis and restore the status quo; a free Poland where they weren’t oppressed and exterminated. It was pure pragmatism. Remaining in the EU is the pragmatic choice. It was, and still is, as simple as that.
God bless Wanda Traczyk-Stawska and all the other heroes who fought to free Poland from oppression.

I’m going to as politely disagree with that lady as possible. We don’t need EU and there are still scores to settle with Germany.
