  1. Ah not to worry, there’s still time for classics like “why is that policeman dancing instead of doing their job” and other hysterics

  2. What’s 430 arrests and a couple stabbings between friends. Truly culturally enriched!

  3. I guess its about that time…..

  4. How are the racists so quick to reply?

    Carnival was brilliant this year, fuck the haters

  5. There were 6 arrests at Pride last year. What is about this particular “community” OTOH that leaves the Met celebrating when 2 people are stabbed and 400 people are arrested?

    Bear in mind this is *after* they carried out pre-emptive raids and arrests before the thing even began

  6. Well….whether people like it or not perhaps the police using some of the measures they did this year improved safety and deterred the worst most violent bastards from attending.

  7. As of Monday evening, there had been 423 arrests over two days. There were two stabbings, but the Met said neither led to serious injury.

    This related to the carnival?

  8. A Notting Hill Carnival without at least 3 stabbings is considered a dull affair.

  9. Literally was so safe the entire time. First time I’ve ever stayed past 8pm at Carnival.

    Hoping this is a permanent shift.

    Got to rep my culture heavy. Loved it.

  10. As someone who literally lives in Ladbroke Grove I have to say this was suuuuch a great carnival!! The vibes were high, people were beautiful and everyone was enjoying themselves. Fucking unfortunate for people to be filled w so much hate that they try to shit on everything for everyone. Even now the last few people who left were so chill and just in a good mood, anyone who says otherwise clearly has an agenda

  11. We all need jesus our lord and saviour, it’s sad how far carnival has strayed from it’s original origins and the family day which was the main event.

    Now it’s degeneracy and promiscuity, as the lord says,

    1 Corinthians 6:18;

    “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body”

    Yous who went are self harming yourselves, get to mass on a vigil/Sunday and confess, REPENT your sins to the lord before it’s too late.

    Tomorrow is not guaranteed but the lord is a merciful and just one, for he is the best of all planners including the return of lost sheep to the fold of his flock.

    2 Peter 3:9;

    “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance”.

  12. Upper class white people tears – I literally saw zero trouble the entire time I was there. What’s sad is there’s people out there who actually wish there was a fatal stabbing as they think it will help in getting the thing shut down smh

  13. There was no piss to hose down in the front garden this year too.

  14. I live right by Royal Oak station and can still hear some revellers heading home through my window as I write this comment.

    I’ve lived here four years now and this year’s carnival easily had the most relaxed atmosphere I’ve experienced so far. I don’t know what to put it down to but it has been lovely.

    It’s obviously unacceptable that there are any serious assaults and stabbings at all but really all things considered this has been a really great year.

  15. I hate carnival. I have been several times and always encountered aggression, crime or violence and was personally involved with one of the murders in the last few years, which was, as you might imagine deeply depressing.

    I think it is a hugely problematic and and chaotic event, there is minimal control over who attends, the area is not conducive to safe crowd control and it acts a catalyst for gangs to come together with weapons which normally ends badly for someone.

    I predicted at least one person would lose their lives again this year. I am very happy to be proven wrong.
